About this space

Beyond the Frame is not a single-topic site. You'll find a hardware manifesto here alongside short fiction, critical essays alongside comics, tools for digital artists alongside philosophy. The connecting thread is the frame itself — and what bleeds out of it. The edge where what is and what could be fail to meet. The friction we experience when anticipation meets reality.

As an artist, comic creator, writer, tinkerer and dreamer I experience this daily. The promise seldom meets the delivery. Some of it is oversight, some of it is by design, and some of it is simply people and companies having different values. My intention here is not to complain about promises unmet, but to take note and describe how the dream could be. In the end we are the ones who have to build it for ourselves, not waiting for someone else to do it for us. Be it the devices we carry, the social structures we interact in, — or just the stories we tell ourselves every day.
