Hello there

This site didn't start as a writing project.

It started with me banging my head on the screen of a device that wouldn't do not only what I hoped for, but what it actually should, had anyone designed it with what the user may need in their mind. I have been dealing with solutions half finished or flat out broken for a long time, but this last one made me think about them all. What is it about computers, that everything has to be so goddamned difficult? And it's not just computers really. The writing itself emerged from that thought.

Thinking clearly about those seemingly separate problems brought up connections I failed to see previously, when dealing with them one by one. The solutions pointed in the same direction: open and expandable. And what I was trying to solve just for myself began to look like something that could help others.

That's what Beyond the Frame is. A record of that and many other searches. Some of them will be technical, some will be artistic, spiritual, social or just personal. Topics are unconstrained — after all, everything in life is searching for who we really are.

I can't give any guarantees, but this may be a wild ride.
